Drone-UAS (Unmanned Aerial Surveillance) and Inspection
This course explores a wide variety of subjects through the lens of understanding and developing a particularly useful, and popular technology. Students will start by learning how unmanned aerial vehicles—drones—are used for a wide variety of purposes, including scientific endeavors, business, and innovative construction.
Learning Objectives: Students will learn about the basic parts of a drone, its mechanics and engineering. Through interacting with functioning drones students will be exposed to the basic principles of aerodynamics. Other subjects explored in this course include computer programming and coding, communication, aerial mapping, civil liberties, FAA regulations, basic business principles, geometry, and design. Students will gain skills in all four STEM areas: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
